Two-Dimensional Design

Durkan Carpet Competition

Using the CAD file provided of a standard Ballroom & Pre-function area, I had to create a design solution of my choice.  Both areas were to be designed as separate components, and each area divided by transition strips in the doorways of 4" solid carpet.  The number of colors was not to exceed 12 in total.  The goal was to see how the entire design could become one large design.  Using Sketchup, Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop, I was able to achieve my final design.  I ended up being top 20 out of 700 across the nation.

Card Design

Card Design

I had to design 3 ink compositions, I chose a cactus/cactus flower to be my concept.  Using those three designs, I had to choose four cards out of the traditional deck of cards and create a card design representing their hierarchy.  I was instructed to use only four colors (plus their shades and tints).  I chose the Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of spades.
